Founded in October 2017 and known firstly as a party series in Essen, The Third Room now expands its spectrum with their debut as a label and mastering studio. Those three disciplines go hand in hand and form The Third Room’s vision as a creative collective.
After a bitter series of event cancellations caused by the corona pandemic The Third Room had to find a way to overcome a financial crisis which has put lot of people in a difficult situation. Initially The Third Room wanted to give all ticket buyers who waived their refunds for the cancelled The Third Room x Bassiani event at UNESCO World Heritage’s Mischanlagea a “thank you” gift in form of a Fundraiser Compilation.The Third Room believes that the Mischanlage is the most aesthetically-techno place we’ve ever seen. The founders of The Third Room Ahmet Sisman & VNNN., have reached out to artists they have invited to their events over the years, such as Dax J, Ellen Allien, SHWD & Obscure Shape, Henning Baer, Héctor Oaks & Markus Suckut. They have also reached out to collectives they have worked with in the past such as Lebendig, R-Imprint, Brutalism, Purify & Acid Wave Records. The result is a compilation which tells a special story, uniting artists who have worked together in the past and showing that music unites the techno scene during these difficult times. The Third Room Fundraiser Compilation has been released today via their bandcamp.
