This alien planet we named “Earth” is made of 71 percent water, that is a well known fact. Out of the 71 percent, we have only explored about 5 percent of the 4 oceans. Since that statement hold truth, it is also a fact that us land dwellers can only thrive on only 29 percent of the Earth’s estate. These percentages alone are the core reasons why we live on a planet that is considered alien, foreign, or even remote.
How does that make you feel..
Does it ground you?
Does it put things in perspective?
Does it remind you of your mortality?
The entire world as you know it only exists within your own mind you see. As an explorative species, it is in our nature to travel to lands unknown to seek inspiration, knowledge, and ultimately find ourselves. These three psychological instruments are what defines us, and pushes us to become better versions of ourselves – but there are some places that our physical vessels cannot travel to. We can not all experience the vastness of outer space, or even walk along the planet’s inner organs deep in the lowest depths of the Earth. But especially, we cannot explore every inch of the Earth’s oceans. These levels of adventure can only be reached through imagination alone, and Valentino Mora has constructed a way to tame our venturous souls with his upcoming “Underwater” album.
In the spirit of Oceanography, let’s look at this beautiful piece of art from a meditative standpoint. Water in general is very freeing, it calls to us using silent whispers and blaring roars – but it doesn’t forgive and it never forgets. Valentino Mora has always had a unique talent of bridging the gap between imaginative landscapes and the complexities of human hearing using sonic explorations. Such attributes can only be assiduously attained by becoming one with the subjects themselves. In this case, this album is a representation of what it means AND feels to become comfortable with the element of Water.
Being released on the world famous recording label “Spazio Disponibile” in Italy, the 8 tracks of this album may scare you.. If you are afraid to travel outside of your comfort zone, that is. On the other hand, it may introduce you to feelings and emotions you never knew existed. Every sound and every detail of the album’s recordings are crafted and surgically placed within moistened atmospheres that are curious and welcoming to new visitors (the listeners).
As the great Bruce Lee once said:
“Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it.“
If you really listen – Water teaches and mentors all living beings who come into contact with it. If you panic within it, it will take your life – but if you embrace it’s weight and power, it will guide you and accept you.
Such is life, life is such.
While listening to these recording, close your eyes and envision yourself being lost at sea – floating to a place unknown. Use your senses; Hear the rhythms and the patterns of the waves, become one with Mother Nature’s saturated playground. As the earth moves, match it’s breathing, become one with all that is around you – Nothing else matters but this very moment suspended in time, all of your problems have dissipated, they are far too small to even be considered a factor. As I said before, this album may bring you to a place that can scare you, it may test your limits.. But why else are you a fearful soul. Let us allow ourselves to open our eyes underwater and take a swim around unchartered territory. Take a step out of your comfort zone and embrace the many wonders around you. I hope you see things that startle you, I hope you allow your dreams to lead you on your journey with honestly and integrity, I hope you allow yourself to be free.
Please show your support and purchase this wonderful album which arrives on March 22nd. Lets explore the deep dark world together.
